EARTH Values

At Environmental Action through Research and Technology High (EARTH) School, our values guide every decision we make — from what we teach to how we build community. We believe that education should prepare students for shaping a better world.

Environmental Commitment

We don't just study the Earth we care for it.

Our EcoSTEAM curriculum is rooted in a deep respect for the natural world. Students engage with real-world ecological challenges through hands-on, interdisciplinary projects that explore topics like climate change, sustainable design, and biodiversity.

Whether restoring a local habitat, designing solutions to reduce waste, or presenting research at community events, our students become environmental stewards in both thought and action.

We are proud to be a certified National Wildlife Federation Green Flag School, and we continue to measure our impact through meaningful, student-led change.

Social Justice Commitment

A just world starts with informed, empowered youth.

We believe that environmental education must go hand-in-hand with social justice. Our curriculum foregrounds equity, inclusion, and critical thinking, helping students explore the connections between environmental, economic, and social systems.

Students investigate questions like:

  • Who is most affected by pollution and climate change?

  • How can we design communities that are sustainable and equitable?

  • What role can young people play in shaping public policy and civic life?

Through dialogue, action, and reflection, we cultivate empathy, activism, and a commitment to justice - locally and globally.

Montessori

Self-directed. Purposeful. Whole-child focused.

As a Montessori high school, we believe in the power of student agency. Our learning environment supports independence, creativity, and responsibility through:

  • Mixed-age classrooms

  • Interdisciplinary project work

  • Mastery-based assessment

  • Real-world application through internships and community engagement

Students are viewed not just as learners, but as capable individuals with the power to direct their own education. With guidance from Montessori-trained educators, students build critical thinking skills, emotional resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.

Montessori at EARTH School is the foundation of how we nurture thoughtful, capable changemakers.
